About Us

Yes. Being vegan is way more fun. It’s a fact.

We laugh more, our spouses are better looking, our children all get chosen first for kickball, you could bounce a quarter off our tight buns, and our vegan-initiation sleeve tattoos are tough.

Okay, so that’s not all true…I would guess that we at least laugh more, but it’s usually at our own expense and/or because of the hilarious situations we find ourselves in the quest for food. Moving from Iowa, the beef capital of the US (the word ‘beef’ was actually written on several buildings around our town), we will attest to the unique adventures that living a plant-based lifestyle will earn you, and Eat.Plants.Live is an outlet to share all the reasons that a plant-based life will (1) offer both physical and emotional energy, strength, and stamina and (2) be the most entertaining and FUN decision you ever made.

…and the hats to prove it.

The most important things to know about us: we were born and raised in Iowa and moved to Southern Oregon on a whim in early 2012 to fulfill our childhood dreams of living beneath a mountain.  We have a thunderous lust for life and have found that the most grand, most profound, and simplest way to express ourselves to others is cooking them great, compassionate food made with lots of love. Whenever possible, we use our food as a vehicle for opening up a dialogue about a plant-powered life.

Evan and I are self-taught in every aspect of veganism, and Eat.Plants.Live shares the process of seeking out great food in our kitchen and beyond. For pictures of past and present adventures, be sure to check out our Facebook here and follow us on Twitter here.

Cheers to good food, great friends, sore legs, and living large! *for more details on our story, check out our inaugural post

I’m glad I came across your blog. This will be inspiring for me. I go back and forth and aim to eat a plant-based diet. I would say I do about 80% of the time, but haven’t made the full switch.

  2. I’m not vegan but I am gluten and dairy free. Love your blog! Going to sign up to follow you! ~ April

Three reasons we should be friends…
    1. Being vegan rules.
    2. Jayci Hamm is an awesome friend.
    3. My hubby and I dream of the northwest as well! But we’re still in Kansas, the other beef capital of the world.

I’m excited to read your blog!
